Image note
Three original interpretations of reinforced concrete & radial space, informed by Centennial Hall in Wrocław. These images explore material and spatial ideas; they are not documentary views or measured reconstructions of the reference. The palette is drawn from the material portrait.

Artwork recordThree views of one material idea.
Max Berg’s Centennial Hall in Wrocław organized a large public interior beneath a reinforced-concrete dome. The dome, central space and steel-and-glass lantern make structure and daylight part of the same composition.

A roof that organizes the room
Centennial Hall connects reinforced concrete, a radial structural order and light from a steel-and-glass lantern. The roof is not simply a cover placed over the gathering space; its organization participates in how the room is read.

02 / From surface to space
Read the whole.
Then the edge.
Trace a rib inward from the perimeter. Repetition directs attention toward the centre, while the open space below keeps that order perceptible. Compare a section with an interior view to see how structure and daylight become one spatial composition.
Trace a structural rib from the perimeter toward the lantern. Compare the radial order above with the open gathering space below.
03 / Colour in context
A palette you can work with.
Five tones drawn from the material portrait. Select a colour, compare it on paper and ink, or copy its value into your own study.

04 / At the bench
Make the observation tangible.
Create an illustrative radial canopy with a central opening and a clear perimeter. Use light to reveal the repeated members. Do not treat the model as a structural design or assign load capacities from its appearance.
Keep a view of the whole beside a close detail. Note the material, lighting and the one variable you changed.
